Digg Popular for a Reason

Digg.com is by far one of the most popular new blogging sites on the net. In my opinion it is the future of online news, much in the way that The Daily Show and The Colbert Report are often thought of as more impartial than many of the major networks. Dig has many of the feature I mentioned I like in College Humor, but it is still very different. It has a different variety of news stories, some funny and satirical, while others are very serious debates on politics and the other popular issues. I like it better than regular news because there are opinions and the issues that get to the top are based on popularity, not some lame network executive deciding what is important.
Digg, Collegehumor, and Bustedtee's are all partners in a way, which is probably one reason why I like all of them so much. All in all I can see the way eMarketing techniques are used in all of them. The site design, customization, and entertainment value in all of them is outstanding and they try to integrate the advertising and promotion into the site itself, not as an annoying separate entity. I think that is the key, and it is what we will see more of in the future.

College Humor is an Awesome Website

Collegehumor.com is by far one of my favorite websites of all time. Not only does it relate directly to my age group, but the entertainment value is better than anything you can find on TV. This is mainly due to its interactive features and varying forms of content. I usually write about Google in these blogs, but I thought I would switch it up to a different less serious format. I've been going on college humor religiously since I was a sophomore in high school. I don't know if it was the format of the site, or the constant updates that they posted that initially kept me coming back, but for some reason it really kept me interested.
I do have to say I love viral videos and what college humor does is sort through thousands of videos to find the most unique and entertaining of all of them than make post and comments on them. That is by far my favorite part of the site. I enjoy both watching the videos and reading the comments. Almost everyone on the site seems witty and funny. I hate going on sites just to see everyone on it arguing about something stupid or objective.
The most noteworthy part of the site that relates to eMarketing is the integration of advertisements and promotions. Busted tees is a sponsor of the site and has some of the funniest t-shirts I have ever seen, and they have made several funny post and videos about their company, which works to entertain the sites guests and promote their product. Also more recently they had an AXE dirty video contest where college students would compete to create "dirty videos" where they had to use AXE body wash to clean themselves at the end, all with differing story lines and most of the time attractive woman. It works too, also right now their entire site has been revamped to include the new product form Mountain Dew. It makes the site look cool, and adds new entertainment. I love it, and there are more and more sites like it with new and interesting content. One of my new favorites is thebachelorguy.com. Its a new site just for men promoting gadgets, style tips, and other random news facts. All in all I'd say that sites like these that are popping up all across the net are gold for many online businesses and it's definitely something to keep an eye on.
